Foseco our client based in Hengelo O, is part of the Foundry Division of Vesuvius which provides market leading products and solutions for improving foundry performance. As part of Cookson Group Foseco operates in more than 30 countries and manufactures in 16 locations world wide, while also maintaining centres for RD purposes in Germany, the Netherlands and the USA. The Hengelo centre specializes in new products for the foundry mould and core area. For this growing and innovative company we are looking for a COATING CHEMIST R D. Job Purpose Based on the Dutch border with Germany, the job will offer an experienced postdoctoral scientist the challenge of bringing innovative thinking to the formulation of refractory Coatings for the manufacture of sound metallurgical castings in the foundry industry a sector continually striving to improve productivity and performance, where automated processes demand ever increasing consistency and quality in dipping, spraying and flow coating applications. A key requirement of job is to develop quickly an appreciation of existing formulation technology, testing procedures and application methods, and to contribute new techniques and knowledge with the potential for refreshing and advancing current product technology. Key Responsibilities New product research in the field of foundry coatings for high temperature applications for example 1600 C. Investigation of techniques for characterisation and application of foundry coatings. Regular monitoring of scientific papers and patents. Communication with internal and external testing facilities. Collaboration within local and global teams. Reporting to the Section Leader of the Coatings Research.
