Department The Analytical Technology Materials Characterization Department in Bergen op Zoom is part of the Sabic Technology and Innovation Organisation. The ATMC team 39 fte provides a broad range of laboratory services to product development programs. Laboratory capabilities include labscale extrusion, part molding, physical testing and chemical characterization. The Chemical Characterization Laboratory is well equipped with an extensive array of modern analytical techniques in the area of advanced chromatography, spectroscopy and elemental analysis. To strengthen our chemical analysis team, we are currently looking for an enthusiastic analytical professional with broad knowledge and experience in instrumental analysis. The Challenge Your responsibilities Coordinate and lead all analytical support for 1 2 product groups. Apply a broad range of instrumental analysis techniques to characterize polymeric materials. Interpret and report results. Provide chemical characterization and problem solving expertise to support product development programs, customer and manufacturing issue resolution. Develop and improve analytical methods for polymer characterization and evaluate new test equipment. Participate in cross functional and global safety, quality improvement and knowledge exchange programs. We are looking for BSc in analytical chemistry, polymer sciences or a closely related field Thorough theoretical knowledge of chromatography, spectroscopy and elemental analysis techniques and broad practical experience in applying these techniques. Broad knowledge of physical and chemical characterization techniques for plastics. Preferably a good understanding of polymer properties and structure property relationships. Excellent verbal and written Dutch and English communication skills Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Flexibility, creativity and independence. Ability to work in cross functional and global teams. Ability to efficiently organize, prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
